GATE REPAIR & MAINTENANCE

A reliable repair starts
with the right diagnosis.

If your gate will not move, stops unexpectedly or has become unreliable, we look at the mechanics, power, controls and protection together.

01SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS

What is the gate telling you?

It opens, but will not close.

An obstructed, dirty, misaligned or failed photo eye may be preventing closure. A monitored device can stop normal operation when a fault is detected. Never bypass protection to make the gate move.

It moves slowly or inconsistently.

Battery condition, charging performance, mechanical resistance, wiring and environmental conditions can all contribute. We check the cause before recommending a replacement part.

The remote or keypad stopped working.

The issue may be the accessory, its power supply, programming, wiring or another part of the system. Tell us whether other ways of operating the gate still work.

The gate has been hit or damaged.

Stop automatic operation and keep people clear. Bent frames, damaged posts, shifted hardware and displaced sensors can create new hazards. Have the installation evaluated before returning it to use.

02PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Service is part of the system.

The final S in ACCESS stands for Scheduled Service. The goal is to find developing problems before they interrupt your day.

MONTHLY

Owner safety testing

Follow the operator manual’s procedure for testing the operator and protective devices. Use approved test methods; never use a person or pet as an obstruction.

ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS

Residential service

A practical starting point for professional preventive maintenance. Review batteries, charging, mechanics, sensors, wiring and the surrounding gate area.

OFTEN QUARTERLY

Community & commercial service

Higher traffic may warrant more frequent inspection. Tailor the schedule to the equipment, manufacturer’s instructions and conditions at the property.

03WHAT WE LOOK AT

A check of the
complete entrance.

  • Gate movement, hinges, rollers and support hardware
  • Battery condition and AC or solar charging
  • Operator settings and equipment condition
  • Photo eyes, sensing edges and monitored connections
  • Vehicle detection, remotes and access controls
  • Warning signs, clearances and changes around the gate

Parts coverage and labor are different.

A manufacturer’s parts warranty does not automatically include the labor, travel or service call needed to diagnose and replace a component.

RADIUS labor is billed per call unless your specific agreement provides otherwise. Ask about the applicable warranty and service terms before authorizing work.

04BEFORE YOU CALL

A few details
help us prepare.

What information should I have ready?

The property address, operator brand/model if visible, a description of the problem and when it began. Photos of the gate, operator and display can also help the service conversation.

Should I bypass a sensor to close the gate?

No. Keep people clear and contact a qualified gate professional. A safety fault needs evaluation. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for any owner-permitted manual operation.

What if the installation is older?

We can evaluate its condition and service options. If significant hazards are present, we explain the deficiencies and recommended improvements. Some installations may require safety corrections before we continue repairs.

What if the gate strikes someone or a vehicle?

Stop operation, check everyone involved and call 911 for a possible injury. Prevent further movement, preserve photos or video, and have the system professionally evaluated before returning it to service.
